Picture by the NASA Hubble Space Telescope of a storm on the planet Saturn. The storm is the white arrowhead shape in the middle of Saturn - pointing to the right. The diameter of this storm is about the diameter of the Earth. The beautiful blue in the photograph is caused by the multiple pictures that have been combined - blue is not the natural color of Saturn. The white in the clouds are white ammonia ice crystals.

This is a false-color picture of Saturn by NASA's Hubble Space Telescope. This infrared picture clearly shows clouds and hazes in Saturn's atmosphere. Blue indicates a clear atmosphere - like in the northern hemisphere on this photograph.
The green indicates a thin haze and yellow indicates a thicker haze above the main cloud layer. Red clouds are the highest. Orange clouds are just below the red clouds. The white areas on the left and right are storms. The Cassini Division is clearly visible.

A NASA Hubble Space Telescope picture of the rings of Saturn edge-on. There is a shadow of Titan on Saturn. Titan - seen on the left, is clearly dark brown and not white like the other large moons of Saturn. The dark line on Saturn's equator is the shadow of the rings.
The photograph on the bottom shows the rings slightly tilted. Tethys is on the left of Saturn and Dione on the right hand side.

Saturn with Tethys at the top and Dione just below it. You can see the limb of Saturn through the Cassini Division. The bands of the planet Saturn are not as clearly visible as the belts and zones of Jupiter.
Picture of Giovanni Cassini - the discover of Cassini's Division.

Photography by Voyager 1 of the rings of the planet Saturn. At the bottom of this picture, you can see Saturn through its rings.
The planet Saturn was named after the Roman god of agriculture and the harvest.
Saturn is the second largest planet in our solar system (Jupiter is the largest.)
The planet Saturn is less dense than water - it will float on water.
